A beautiful place to be. The marvellous Antelope Slot Canyon in Utah. The

colors are unreal and the light rays from the sun cast glowing reflections on

the walls which light up the crevices.

Great idea to include the photographer; I had no idea these canyons were so big. Thanks for posting.

why not let the other photographer stand in the light. Just my opinion. Very nice. I was there in the winter but did not go down there. Geo

so you got a D70... Waiting for your opinion on it. For now, what I see here is really great. Congrats, as usual!

Alec, hadn't the photog been in the shot, this would have been just another usual shot of Slot Canyon. Good move! BTW, would it be even better to dodge in the highlight area and get more detail (they look burnt out)? Still, nice.

Really very nice. I got a new D70 ... It's time to go back to Antelope and take some more photos. Yours came out so well.

Rarely have I seen a photo that so nicely demonstrates the value of an person or object to give a sense of scale. There must be 10,000 pictures of these canyons but this is the first I've seen to tell me how big the place really is.

I never have gone in the american canyons, but I have seen so many in photography that I have the impression of knowing them all. Just an impression, obviously. But this is always as magnificent.

This scene is photographed very often. Putting a person in it gives it a different perspective. There is some overexposure at the top. This particular magazine (Arizona Highways) often has large format photography exposures of the scene. http://www.arizonahighways.com/page.cfm?name=Photo_&nav=photo, but interestingly, is NOT digitally orientated, as is show by their netsite, which amazingly, displays images in poor quality format...The printed images in the magazine are excellent. Please do not misunderstand, I am NOT plugging the magazine, but in reference to the exposure above, and since this is a photography netsite, folks might have some interest in getting a copy of one of the few magazines that publishes LARGE PHOTOGRAPHS....Good job Alex.

Nice capture - great clarity and tonal distribution. Guess you are in the photographer's frame too, I want to see his shot. :)

A beautiful image of a much photographed location, the photographer adds such a sense of scale, something sorely missing from so many photos of this and similar locations such as The Wave. I do have to point out though that Antelope Canyon is in Arizona, not Utah.

Wow! Didn't expect so many responses from all you nice guys. It's been great photographing the Western National Parks in USA. I particularly like the colors of Bodie State Historic Park in Northern California which is near Mono Lake, another very great place for shooting.

The mountains in Yosemite and Zion National Park are still awesome but you have to wait for the evening light to get the nice colors. The past three weeks here has been great and I can't wait to download the thousands of images captured with the super 1G digital CF cards. Thumbs up for digital technology! A great alternative to Velvia.

Here's another attachment of how narrow the slot is and it runs for a 1/4 mile before reaching another exit..
