A Lexington, Ky. horse farm in June, October, and February 1978-79.

Very nice idea and follow through, Ken! Have to say that the framing is a tad too busy (a simple black frame/mat would have showcased the images more effective, IMHO.) Nice.

Would have added a fourth season, but spring and summer didn't look any different. There weren't any spring plants in the scene. Thanks for the comment.

Great theme. I like how the camera position was identical each time. Maybe for a spring photo you can get the first emergence of leaves, when they're that light green ("spring green") color. Great depth to these photos, great lighting on the autumn scene, and I would agree that a simpler frame is needed. I would lose the burlap texture. The photos stand on their own.

Agree about the frame. Excellent idea. Of course, it BEGS for the 4th season.I would probably also try to crop your Autmn shot to more closely match the horizon level.

Each shot is nice. It's hard to call but I think Winter gets my vote.

Sorry, but the first thing I noticed was the different heights of the vanishing point. Is this deliberate?

Very nice Idea and execution Ken, I agree that the frame is competition to the seasons. Pnina

Great idea... so simple, yet I haven't seen this before. Executed very well. I agree with others that this would probably be better if the frame were entirely black... with maybe a small color border around each individual picture.

Great job! 6/7

Very nice photograph Ken. The overall layout is excellent, very original. Personally, I like Autumn the best, but I wish the sky had a little more excitement in it. Identical vanishing points might be something to consider. Still, a great job. Regards.

very well done. I like that you changed frame color for each season and that autumn's vanishing point is set higher than summer or winter. Good job.

I love this idea. I can feel the hot, humid, breath taking heat of the summer, the cool, damp, breath taking beauty of the fall colors, and the brisk, cool air of the winter. My suggestion for spring, one with our beautiful, clear blue skies of spring. The road also tells the tale in this image. In summer it looks hot, dry and cracked. In fall, damp and slippery, winter it just looks cold. Nice job! Now go back there in the spring and capture those awesome skies! Have you done any of the stone walls along the roads, I love those walls, Ireland reminded me how much I love those walls. I'd love to see your take on them. Always wanted to do some research on the walls, make a nice coffee table book for Ky.

Ken, great work! I have thought about doing something like this before but never got around to trying it. I've also thought about "before" and "after" of areas that are subject to urban sprawl and blight, but for other than artistic reasons.

I'm partial to the autumn version in this case.

Very nice mat and frame. I've noticed that people's opinion about the selected frame and/or mat varies almost as much as their opinion of the pictures. Thanks for taking the time to offer other possibilities. Regards.
