Strangely enough, my eye enters this picture from the top, rather than the bottom, through the thick black cloud. This makes it for a nice effect, once I get to the remote reddish cloud.

A small detail which I also like is the amount of beach which anchors this seascape to land... how did you choose for this amount and not for instance a bit more (which I would have preferred, but it is quite personal) or none at all? Is it accidental or calculated?

Cheers,

love the strong contrast between the extremely dramatic sky and the subtle calm surface of sea. the golden edge of the clouds is a bonus. Geo

Pretty intense mood & nice colors. I wish there is at less a forground element to add "depth" to image. Nice, Still.

I like the complexity of the sky - lots to look at there and very nice colors. I tried different cropping ideas on this, and I think it's ideal the way it is. Cut any from the top, and the left edge of the nearest cloud is cut out, and this helps anchor the top of the image. I think more beach would also not help any. Very nice image.

if anything I'd crop out the beach all together. the clouds add all the depth this photo needs and the flat sea just creates a stronger feeling of wide open space. the dark rain clouds pull the eye down to the orange cloud in the center where your brain can sit and feel that wonderful wide open space

Wonderful mood! The composition is maby a little static, but the interesting clouds make up for it. Love the various tints of color throughout the picture. Love the hint of beach at the bottom.

I love this photo but for some reason my mind cannot comprehend how the sky can be so deep blue in the center but the bright patch of white to the right and slightly above the center can be so ... white.

I think you have a very good skill at capturing these cloudy/stormy skies. I've enjoyed how you use this kind of sky in this and other photos in your portfolio.
