henrimanguy 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Magificent picture. I love the softness of the sky and the originality of the subject. It is houses made with boat hulls, is n't it ? Link to comment
rafikrkamel 1 Posted July 11, 2004 The subject and the background blend in perfectly. Thumbs up! Link to comment
scott_lowrey 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Hi Kevin, this is a great shot/s of the boat huts, I was recently at holy island myself and took a shot of them also, yours I like more because the lighting is more peaceful, I like it better if you cropped away about half of the sky. Anyway heres mine just so you can see in afternoon. Link to comment
vincetylor 0 Posted July 12, 2004 I like this creation Kevin. Looks very natural to me. All of your work is of a very high quality in my opinion. I also really appreciate your attitude about Photoshop. Many today are not up front regards composites, what was added, what is not etc. Your direct approach to revealing what you do to create these beauties is refreshing indeed! Thanks for more excellent work! Aloha. Link to comment
derek_laird 0 Posted July 12, 2004 Lovely colour Kevin, great the way you have detail in the 'shadow' side of the huts! i must go back there and reshoot them my self, im inspired again now! Regards Link to comment

wenger 0 Posted July 12, 2004 This is a pretty photo of an interesting subject. I wonder though why you chose a sky with a vapor trail in it when you must have plenty of sky shots without them. Link to comment
dmitri_zakovorotny1 0 Posted July 12, 2004 Excellent!I saw this photo earlier, maybe in your folder, not in critique chart.7/7. Link to comment

papagen0 0 Posted July 12, 2004 I don't like the unnatural look of the light. I'm guessing, but it seems to me that the roofs of the huts were originally well lit - whereas if the sun were really behind them and low in the sky as portrayed then they would be pretty dark. I'm sorry - I'm not a anti-photoshop luddite, but the light just looks all wrong to me. Maybe I need to free my mind... Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted July 12, 2004 I've seen a few versions of this shot from you, Kevin. This is probably the best of the 3-boathouse images. Nice one. Link to comment
weinmaster_m 0 Posted July 13, 2004 I like the pictures wich have only the all-important objects. This is one of them. Nice photo. Weinmaster Link to comment
the grey house 0 Posted July 13, 2004 Beautifully done Kevin - looks very natural - a beautiful image. Regards Paul. Link to comment
ron_van_elst1 0 Posted July 13, 2004 Another fine example of wrong thinking... No situation like this will occur in 'real life' unless you have two suns in the sky. You can't have well lit houseboats AND a sunset behind it. Light coming from 2 directions ? Dont think so. My opinion is that if Photoshop is being used, use it wisely and not just to create a 'pretty picture' for exposure. Link to comment
shadow-island 0 Posted July 14, 2004 and what a great idea having that huge flood lamp off frame to the left. :) I would say that you have created two eye pleasing images combined into one master. Well done. Link to comment
