Blacksnake whip(nude)

amypowers

A little poetic license here- this is not, in fact, a "Blacksnake" whip. Blacksnakes are longer than this whip. But its such a good title. Shot against a white seamless, the cloudy effect added in photoshop. I used the wide-angle lens for the CP950.

I shot this with a wide angle lens on the Nikon CP950, and to my

eye it looks a tiny bit...wide-angle-y. I've actually sold a couple

prints of this image, so the distortion, if there is one, must not be

horribly offensive, but I'd like input on it.

Circular handle loop and ankle braclet distract

eye motion -----multiple view of breasts very

aesthetic ,i.e, one anterior, the other almost lateral. Get rid of the handle loop on the whip!!

If you want a real critical eye then I agree to get rid of the loop on the whip as it distracts. Hair on right side (models left) is also distracting. I always like to see faces. And for this photo I don't quite get the connection. She doesn't look like she has been whipped yet, and she doesn't look like she wants to be whipped, nor does she look like she wants to whip somebody. I think it would have been more effective if she were turned around so the back side of her was facing the viewer. Kevin

Wide-angly? No. Maybe it's the pose that makes it seem that way, but I like the pose; it has a comfortable symmetry to it. And the catlike pawing, with catlike curiosity, at the end of the whip--does that speak volumes! "Should I? Would I? Could I?"

I don't like the cloudy effect. It adds a dreamy look in a very physical photo. For me, it would have worked better with a plain background. Even with the shadow of your body it seems that you are floating and it makes no sense with your pose.

I love your poses. They are, at the same time, aesthetically wonderful but disturbing. Amy, please, concentrate in the shapes and the lights as you did 'till know and don't be upset by photoshop possibilities. 90% of the cases it ruins photographies.

I agree the loop is distracting to the overall composition of the shot, but that's it. I think this is a great photograph. As always with your work, the lighting and contrasts are excellent!

More accent light on the hair might be the only improvement, perhaps reduce density in PS. Otherwise, I like the image as is.

this is damn sexy. The wide angle adds to the curvey, spacy feel of the seamless, and your PS work builds further on that.

I agree that the photo could go 'real' or more 'gritty' as well, but I like this direction.

Oh, and the whip rocks. I'm glad your toying with the skinny end though :)

For what it's worth, I think that the loop handle in the foreground offers an invitation for someone to pick it up if they dare.

I'd like to see this without the ankle bracelet, and with the handle/first part of the whip laying over her right ankle... Sort of like the snake slithering over her body.

Agree the whip shouldn't touch the edge of the frame.

As usual, Amy is quite beautiful.

This is damn sexy. I also think the Photoshop effect was perfect- although it wasn't exactly what I first noticed. The bad thing about looking at your photos is that it makes me want to turn off my computer (which pays the bills) and go play with my camera... sigh!

A very erotic pose showing a fine female figure, great curves, the curves of the whip actually enforces the curve of Amy's body almost at sync with each other. Like all photos by this artist its very pleasing to to the eye to both men and women.

I like the overall composition. The wide angle distortion is apparent, but does not detract from the overall effect. I also would loose the loop on the whip. As you are using Photoshop, it would be easy to do.

I don't feel distortion downgrades the composition, or if that it's evident at all. I wish there was more space below, and a little less above.

Other than that... I'd love to see your face =)

Great job!

This whole folder is very original. The composition of all photos is just incredible. It's hard for many of us to achieve that while we behind camera, you managed to do that while being in front! If you could share your technic of self portraite with us-that would be great! Of course, very few of us would look as stunning in front of camera as you.

I think the handle of the whip should be closer to her hand with the tail stretching down her length in the same basic curve that you have... perhaps a bit smoother lines though... also... perhaps have her stretching for the whip but she's not "allowed to touch"

It might look even better under a slightly darker background...

I like what you did with a whip much better than what Robert Mapplethorpe did!

There are just a few challenges left in this world that even our best architects could not achieve......this would be one of them.

You have a eye for balance Amy, Good job!
