henrimanguy 0 Posted July 2, 2004 In the early morning, I cycled on a country road, serching subjects to photograph (my means of transport when I go hunting pictures is a bicycle), and passing beside a field still in the shadow, I saw hundreds of spider webs everywhere in it. I stopped and installed my camera on the tripod, the lower possible, and took some photos. This one is a croping of the best. What do you think of it ? Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 2, 2004 NIce shot Henri. The light at the top of the frame from the webs is great. Did you get any closer shots? Link to comment
photomd 0 Posted July 3, 2004 The idea is great. Yet the cobbweb fades into the bright background which is very busy. keep up with the good work. Regards. Link to comment

macgregor_anderson 0 Posted July 4, 2004 I've often thought of trying to shoot spider webs as I pass them in the forest but I have not yet tried it. I think this is a good example with very good detail in the web. Position of the spider is good too. I find the colors a little distracting, but I enjoy black and white so much that it's hard to know if this is good critique or not. The top third is a little bright, with all the little plants it could be hard to fix this. Very good job. You should explore this idea further! Link to comment
ian cameron 0 Posted July 4, 2004 This is very beautiful and stunningly detailed and I love the fall off of focus which is just enough to suggest that there are many more of these dew covered webs behind yet not overpower the foreground web. Bravo. Link to comment
edgars_purins 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Nice photo, would be interested to see, if you managed to capture more spiderwebs in one picture and with DOF. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Thank you all for your ratings and comments. The original crop was larger and included the hole field with really hundreds of spider webs, but this was'nt very outstanding. I often made this sort of errors when I shot : too large, too large! It is only when I see the prints that I understand what I had to do. Link to comment
