markskelly 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Graphically effectual. But aside from the obvious symbolism, I don't see much of a message. Also, I can see the distortion from a photoshop perspective skew in the main figure. It seems to be flattening it.Nice work, keep going on it. Link to comment
wojtek_rychlik 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I have no clue what it should symbolize. Symbol is the main issue here, I guess, because the aesthetics is terrible. Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I like the way the space has been arranged. Suggestions: Light on the right arm seems too strong and skintones argue with the moon-type light temperature. Regards, Link to comment
indywatchman 0 Posted July 2, 2004 I'm simply amazed that the symbolism is so difficult for some to see. Even if they are not Christian they have to know the story (Christ dying for the sins of men). The obvious story here is, barring the intervention of Christ on our behalf, man must die for his own sins. I have to admit I'm thrown off by the title, "with no nails." What does that mean? Does it mean velcro? Help me out here. I'm reminded of a picture by Rembrandt,"The Raising of the Cross", a self portrait, where he is in the painting with his painter's beret, stating for all the world to see that it was his sins that sent Christ to the cross. It is difficult to tell if your making jest or a sincere point. I think you have hit both sides of the aisle. It makes me think even though I may find out we're not on the same page. Good work. jmp 0 Posted August 27, 2004 Perhaps, with no nails refers to the other definition of crucify... Given the fact the person in the photo is not Jesus (who knows what he really looked like though!) it is symbolic on a personal level to the artist. Although I am not sure of why there is another image in the back ground? Link to comment
koval 0 Posted August 27, 2004 no nails refers to - no need to force ...in this case it fallows to what your conclusion was, It i snot about JC..it is about all the man . Tha is why there is more then one . Link to comment
a_bell 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Yeah, not seeing it here. You are contridicting yourself... even after your explanation, I am still not seeing. Any ignorant person might like it... Sorry for the harshness. Link to comment
