Mud Pot

Interesting shot Jeff. The mudpot and sky are cool, but I wish the middle of the picture had more detail--it's almost a black band. Still, nice shot!

Wow! I almost can't believe this is a digital picture; it looks like a classic Zone System pic. Did you digitally edit for contrast? Would be interesting to hear details of lighting and exposure too.

Congratulations, your photos are smart. Altough BW is great, in some photos, like this one, I really wondered the real colors.

I admire you work and what you are able to extract from a digital camera. The only thing that keeps this from a 10 on aesthetics (for me) is I would have liked just a bit higher camera angle to make the mud pot a little bigger (and more round) in the frame. A very simple, yet effective composition.
