One of my first pics with the D70. It was 07:30 and I wanted to test

the ability to capture sky's details at low speed. I used a polarizer

filter

Yes. I was. But not fully enthusiastic. Slides have still a very strong appeal to me (an erotic-like sort of attraction, perhaps)

Somehow I knew you'd say that you were only somewhat impressed with the sky ... and that you prefer slides. :-)

Beatiful composition and wonderful color tones! Happy to see that I'm not the only one to wake up early to take photographs. Congrats!

Well, Alberto, the changes in the system effectively make English the official language: the diacritical remarks don't work any more. So, I will stay in English. . . .

I love this picture, the purity of it, and the balance of the composition.

Nice shot, with very natural colours and excellent clarity!

Regards, Chris

P.S. Isn't the D70 a great camera, Alberto. I got one two days ago and I LOVE it!!

Nice composition. I like the texture in the sky. You got yourself a D70, congrats! If you have any trouble capturing the sky the way you'd like, I'd recommend a graduated neutral density filter. For an example see my latest posting.

My first thought was, this can't be Velvia. I was right. Tell us your observations Alberto when you are ready. I will be eager to hear your comparisons!!

Still the composition is very interesting and the slower speed also adds a nice element in this. I would perhaps bump the color a bit to get closer to Velvia. I do see a better handling of the shadows than we might expect with that film Alberto. Look forward to hearing back. Aloha!

My eyes are searching all over the picture and I can't find a subject or a interesting pattern/line. It may be the river, but it's a too weak element to really hold my attention.

First on the D70:

It is a nice camera but I wasn't fully enthralled by it! My favourite dealer lent it to me for a trial. I might get myself one but...

Second on Slides

Still too much in love with Velvia! With digital you lose a lot of the foreplay of photography... At my age I enjoy foreplay as much as clicking!

Hello companheiro galego!

Great photo, the sky makes it dramatic and the shutter speed is ideal. Just enough to get that river the sense of motion without blurring it too much (clich驮

I didn't think you'd be won over that fast Alberto! Please do share your opinions on both as often as you feel compelled. They are valued by this member. Much Aloha.

Sorry Alberto, but I think this is not one of your better photos. I think you could have search for a better composition and/or wait for a better moment to shot.

Alberto, appreciate your opinion about velvia, indeed about 'foreplay'! (especially about foreplay!) Somehow the uploaded images from Dig cameras seem better to me than scans from velvia etc. Has any other photographer noticed this? but comparing like with like..its macdonalds against home cooked food.....:-))

... to forplay and afterplay!

The reason digs look sharper and better is because scanning slides is a difficult affair that requires a good dedicated film scanner, time and some postproduction editing in PS (or similar).

That's the afterplay part (some call it having a smoke...) and I love it even if I never smoked!

Good Lord, Derek!

A D1 and a Hass!

Those are heavy artillery!

Don't divorce! Pour as much love as you can on them! They surely deserve that!

Alberto....ive fallen for the Hassy. Its simply her chassis and those Swedish eyes .D1 is history :-)

"heavy" artillery indeed!

Composition is fine. I would only consider to add some more contrast. With curves should be quite easy to do .... as u probably already know. Best Regards.
