A test of the D70 digital SLR by Nikon. I used a tripod and a level

(yes! The verticals are verticals but the church isn't!) It was dusk

and a storm was in full rage.

You always seem to stumble upon these GREAT skies. This is wonderful (even if the church is not quite straight). :-) I particularly like the lighting on the front of the church while the sky is dark. Warm regards!!

No. You are not nuts and PS wasn't used. As I say in the background info: The church was lit because it was Friday evening and they wanted to lure tourists in to dine in their inns

Wonderful shot! Your skilled eye is perfectly recognizable also behind the viewfinder of a digital camera! Congrats!

Nice color contrast here. The lit church, and the selective curves or whatever you used, add drama to the scene. Well done.

Great lighting, dramatic sky, very interesting contrast of warm and cold colours. Adverse weather - good shots. The sky surrounding the church`s upper part looks like a halo, somewhat brighter (PS brush to lighten the building ?)

Manuel.

It seems obvious that the church is leaning dangerously (and that's not Pisa!).

The reason I didn't correct it is that I do always use a level fitted on the flash hotshoe of my camera...

Is it possible that I was a bit too fast and didn't carefully check the verticalities here...?

Yes, Alberto, accept it! You didn't!!

Alberto, it can be that the guy doesn't speak english...anyway what about flipping the shot vertically? ;-p great colours and light, you chose the perfect moment to shoot. By the way: I was very busy last week and I couldn't get all the news...when did you buy the D70?

The picture is beautiful even being Bercimuel of Pisa. However, this is the good news of digital. PS can correct the picture by rotating 1 degree to the left. In terms of composition, I would try to overcorrect it and turn it one more degree counterclockwise. My best wishes, Manuel.

Manuel, if you had a shot of Pisa tower, would you rotate it in ps to have it vertical?

Muy bonita foto Nikonero. El tema del nivel yo tambien tengo uno de esos de burbuja que se pone en la zapata del flash, pero muchas veces no puedes hacerle caso porque tienes que tener en cuenta la prespectiva y deformacion de la lente. Felicidades 7/7
