Guest Guest Posted June 24, 2004 now see, this one works and works well. My only suggestion would be to have the outer edges of the wake flow out from the bottom right corner which would bring the bird down just a hair- oh but that puts it dead center doesnt it? never mind. Knicki Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Yep... I thought the same Knicki... so left it as is. This new camera shoots at such a high resolution, compressing it to make it small enough to upload to P.net takes away a lot of color and clarity. Still... it ain't too bad. This was taken on Father's Day. Weather was clear and dry... an unusal thing here in NC. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 25, 2004 I like it, too. Nice reflections and colors, and the bird in silouette works well. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted June 25, 2004 The reflected colors in this are so outstanding...then the silhouette amidst them...just wonderful!! Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 26, 2004 Extraordinary image, Regina. You're obviously into a new phase, and I like it. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted June 27, 2004 Thanks Lannie... I am to the point where if I am not shooting SOMETHING everyday, I go into withdrawls. lol Link to comment
maxhaynes 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Hi Regina, I tried cropping the image to see if the space to the left was important and I think it is. There are lines within that space that set up and hold the composition. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted August 27, 2004 Excellent! You may also take it as being the tail of a wale diving (in a pool). It is true that such quasi abstract pictures are difficult to crop -- almost every solution is acceptable. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted October 22, 2006 Update on this image. I entered this shot into a magazine photo contest and have been contacted that I have won in the category of wildfowl. They won't tell me what "place" I have won. I have to wait for the magazine to be published first. It will appear in the Jan. issue of Wildlife in North Carolina. Very excting as there is a (small) cash prize attached to winning as well as the fact that my image will be framed and hung in the Natural Science Museum here in Raleigh. Always wanted my work to be hanging in a museum... the science museum wasn't really what I had in mind, but I'll take it! Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted December 14, 2006 This is very nice, Regina. You astound me with your ability to "be there" and get so many great shots. I never see you name come up anymore, even though you are still listed among my favorites. I am not sure why your name does not pop up on my workspace page. --Lannie Link to comment
