Whilst the photo is exellent, I think that the framing is crap, well, I REALLY think you should either crop the frame or change it, it would dramaticaly improve the overall, I rate the photo considering there is no frame...

very great shot,

i can feel the intensity of his concentration through his eyes,

lights, tone, and composition are perfect!!!

very very good!

maybe you could try to crop your subject removing children behind him.

I think that in this way you could focus you picture on child and remove distracting elements.

what do you think???

hi,

personally i don't like big framing with something attractive...

i think is distractive from the picture.

i prefer anonymous frames.
in thi case i suggest a large and white frame.

The frame doesn't add to the photo. The font does not add to the photo. The locale does not add to the photo (you can't tell where the boy is). But what catches all the viewers of this photo are the boys intense stare. Here is my edit for the piece. And feel free to go to my pages and do the same if you see there could be improvement.

Hello Aubre

As I said I already tried these transformations (though not removing people in front of him)

It is just that printed I prefer this one.But now I know what I must look when shooting. I will set the background (outside) and will ask the little boy (not this one) to stare at things :p

This version is much better than your first one, and I agree with you to keep those people sitting behind the boy in the picture. Marias frame looks very nice to me. But the main thing is the image and that is wonderful. Regards, Uwe.

hi

looking and looking again your picture,

i've to say that i was wrong when i told you that could be better without children,

the isolation of subject is not everytime

the best solution to capture his soul.

In this case the scene and children all around

emphatize his concetration.

regarding the frame i'm still convinced abuot a big white frame,

and i will try to explain the reason.

in this case you can forget colored frames,

because the image is B&W and colored frames give a specific color cast

that in this case is useless (or distracting).

so i think you should use or a full black or full white frame.

If you choose a black frame,

the image is basically black,

so it will seem that on picture is missing something else,

because the children are looking somewhere that is not included on picture.

to avoid this you can sourround the image with a white line,

as I'm usual to do on my pictures,

but you will still have the problem that a black frame enhances colors, deep and contrast, and in your case

the "concentration" is in a white area.

So a white frame can give you a clear limit to the image itself,

it enhance faces and looking,

and is not distractive.

Finally i thing that the description in this case

helps the image (maybe this is the reson why poeple now are commenting it more)

but you have to choose a more "elegant" font.

from my side (i think) it's all, keep shooting

regards

Bruno

PS:sorry for the long comment :o)

That's alright Bruno, you may put as much comments on my pictures as you want :)

I also found the font cheesy... Have you a font to recommend?

I also agree for a white frame if any... but on a white page it will not be very usefull :p

This is so very nice. I agree, the other children should stay. Thank you for your comment on my "Morning Light". I have tried something new and posted another version. Thanks for your suggestions. J :)

Good photo and inadquate frame, my dear friend, as others have already said. If I insist on it is because it is very important in such a good capture to emphasize the image.

Iagree the other children should stay. I agree with your comment on the child looking squeezed against the frame otherwise.

Mondiani, as a book cover this really works.

I don't think that the original frame worked at all, but the photo does. Yes, the bright spots are perhaps a bit too bright, but it is still a fine photo. I would definitely keep the other kids in the photo.
