Beauty of nature!

Gaetan, You've chosen a lovely flower with good colours and focus and dof are good, but I think this could do with lightening and increased contrast to bring it out of the dark background. I also find the white area behind the bloom facing left very distracting. Perhaps a crop and a bit of cloning, or reshoot in different light and slightly different position would do. I hope you don't mind me messing with your image {~;

Thank you for your very nice input and comment. You are right that this picture could be lightened and increased in contrast to bring it out of the dark background. But I prefered to save the capture of original light. Also I am not very good at PS.

Like you I found the white area behind the bloom facing left is distracting. I have made the same kind of cropping that you propose but I prefer my original composition. In my opinion, my original composition give a more balanced photo. Also like I said, I am not very good at PS and removing this white spot would give a better photo but I had never cloned. Would have to learn more this software. I will reshoot in different light and I will pratice more because it was only the second time I used this Canon zoom. I can see the advantage of DSLR like having gret DOF.
