jlondonphoto 0 Posted June 13, 2004 Only thing that kept me from giving this double 7s is the girls hair (in my opinion) needs burning in at the very corner. The tonal range of this photo is awesome along with comp and content. But that bright spot (and maybe the top right as well) keeps pulling my eye away from the main idea. I don't know if the girls hand and finger position was planned or just one of those lucky moments, but the way her hand works with the hand of the statue is just too good to be true. I suspect therefore it was planned and my hat's off to ya! Link to comment

tony_p4 1 Posted June 15, 2004 For me I think it is the position and pose of her hand that makes this one exceptional. Tony Link to comment

pradeep1 0 Posted June 16, 2004 i love the toning that you achieve, how do you do it? desaturate and then adjust hue? cheers! Link to comment
scott_esposito 0 Posted June 16, 2004 the expression on the firl's face makes the picture for me. it's mirroring the sculputre, but the different placement of each's hand gives each face a different mood. the sculpture is wonder bordering on anguish, the girl's in intense interest. it looks like you might burn the left edges down just a tad; otherwise i like the tonal values in this image Link to comment
monika.brand 0 Posted June 17, 2004 thanks a lot for your comment. I agree with the bright areas at the top left and right. Have to burn them in. And the position of her fingers was planned, yes. I said to my daughter, she should put her finger under the chin of the angel, like saying - chin up, my dear, there will be better times...She did as I told her and I shot. That's all. Best regards, Monika. Link to comment

monika.brand 0 Posted June 17, 2004 it's a bit difficult to explain, because I don't know the english terms of it. I always take three steps: 1.selective colourcorrection 2.colourbalance 3.coloursaturation Hope you could understand it, because I've translated directly from german ;-) Btw I'm working with PS7.
