I'd consider either cropping or cloning that strip at the top of the bench; otherwise, I love this picture. One dog sits, the other stands. Both have sweet expressions. I love the tones and lighting.

What is your secret for getting such great animal shots? My dog is nearly as adorable as these two...but I have yet to get a good photo. I like the contrast on these shots and the razor sharpness. Any tips for me?

Regina - look at Chris's portrait. Does he look like the kind of guy animals would love ? - of course he does. My point is that I think his knack for pet portraits comes 'from within' - just natural for him. And to me, this shows thru in the fine job he does capturing images of them.

gorgeous dogs. i love the eyes. the tonality is fantastic (and i understand it is difficult to achieve with dark coated animals). i have two dachshunds at home, but not longhairs like these.
