Artist Drive

Nikon series E 50/1.8 lens. Death Valley, California, but this is winter. And, it is raining. It rained 0.9in. the day before Christmas 2003, half the year's rainfall. Guess we were lucky, one person told us he's been here six times and this was the first time he's seen rain! The crow was probably looking for shelter (there's none anywhere) or more likely enjoying the wet splash. Light was low due to the dark clouds. I steadied the camera on the car window and took this shot (no bean bag, they had been boiled and eaten!). I think the setting was 1/30 at F8. We spent the next day (Christmas) at sin-city, Las Vegas!
