alberto.conde 0 Posted June 8, 2004 Have I gone too far? Or, perhaps, too clumsy? Should I delete from my folder? Be frank, please! I do appreciate it and do thank you! Link to comment
shadow-island 0 Posted June 8, 2004 Alot of elements to study in this image. First the wonderful flowers in foreground, then there is the castle ruin and the haze that lies behind the castle and accross the mountian range on the horizon. The clouds that blanket the top left and the total white sky to the right. That may be the only issue i find with this image. I like your presentation as is. Well done. Link to comment
shaunrasmussen 0 Posted June 8, 2004 Great shot, keep it! The ONLY thing that I would think of doing different, is possibly use a flash to make the flowers in the foreground stand out and bring out the color a little more. That might make it worse, something to think about. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted June 8, 2004 The castle of La Iruela is one of the most interesting fortresses of Arab origin in the Kingdom of Jaen, and with its picturesque beauty it is one of the most romantic castles in romantic Andalucia. It is located near Cazorla, in the foothills of the mountain range bearing the same name. I was fortunate to get a room in a small family hotel with spectacular views over the very close castle. Its name: Hotel La Finca (where I paid, 30 US$ for a comfortable A/C room and a huge delicious breakfast. See it in the net: http://www.hotellafinca.com). I do reccomend it unreservedly!!A number of battles were fought here during the Reconquest until Don Rodrigo Jimenez de Rada, archbishop of Toledo, reconquered it in 1231 and made it the seat of his archbishopry. Its primitive structure is relatively intact. The principal defenses consist of a crumbling principal tower and two separate enclosures, with some of its battlements still intact, connected by a long curtain wall. These walls also protected the monastery, whose remains are still visible nearby. The legend goes that it belonged once to the templars... Link to comment
charodiez 0 Posted June 8, 2004 I like the endless-time look of this shot, well the background, with the clouds, the castle on the rock (very Lord of the Rings like!). I also like the flowers on the foreground Alberto, but I would have included less flowers... (Oh, yes, and as you mention dodge the brightful roofs). Good shot! Link to comment
martin_paul 0 Posted June 8, 2004 Beautiful Alberto! I especially like the contrast with the light misty background. By the way. Thank you for all your kind words on my photos of late. Much appreciated. Regards, Martin Paul. Link to comment

nino1 0 Posted June 8, 2004 I'm not very sure about the greyscale upper part (was it like that or did you change it in ps?) but anyway I like very much this shot, is anyway unconventional. Link to comment

I'm fascinated by the composition, the color and the depth of this beautiful image. I am charmed with it. Por cierto, muchas gracias por una bienvenida tan calida. La foto Acuarela esta realizada el 17 de Mayo a las 21:34 horas. Las ultimas luces violetas sobre la densa niebla de mi bahia. Jen Selwa 0 Posted June 8, 2004 This is gorgeous. Castles are right behind my love of lighthouses and waterfalls. Outstanding capture of light and a wonderful sense of depth. Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted June 9, 2004 Beautiful photograph Alberto! I'd like the brightness of the fog behind the castle to be a little softer, but that's a nit and may be just me... The shape of the foreground flowers balances the castle very nicely! The backgound information is also quite interesting, Thanks! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted June 9, 2004 Enchanting and mysterious composition. Alberto I love the way the light lit up on the flora in the foreground. If only we have sceneries like these in SE Asia. Link to comment
