Jayme, this is really pretty. The cloud formation combined with your tonality make this photo flow together nicely. Well done!

Glendalough perhaps? In any case, even if I like the subject and the composition I do object to the time of day. It results on a flat and uninteresting light as it happens in one of my recent submissions (the Prince Henry Watchtower).

ALBERTO : Thanks for the comment that explains your rating. I agree about the flatness, unfortunately, I had no control over the time of day (traveling with 3 others). I was forced to shoot under a very unattractive lighting situation (about 1500-1600). This is one reason I cut my 3 week (National Lampoon) European vacation to 1 week. I was so....frustrated. By the time the others got up, I was ready for a midmorning nap. :) I did the best I could with the light I had at the time. However, I did flatten it a bit more so as to give it a kind of "mystical, fantasy feeling". I figured if it was going to be flat anyway, why not soften it up a little more. You must admit, it is kind of an mystical place, what with no doors on this tower. You are right, Glendalough, Ireland. How adroit of you. My only solace is the fact that you found it was recognizable. I played in P/S, see image below. Maybe this helps, maybe not. Thanks J.

I don't feel it's too flat, the degree of colour saturation compensates for that. Go easy on the photoshopping, sometimes it's OK to just let the subject speak for itself.

Thank you for your comment, I enjoy beautiful lighting as much as the next person. But it truly wasn't happening that day. I hate shooting anything at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, unless it's in the shade, or I have no choice. This was a "have no choice" situation and no chance of ever coming back anytime soon. So... I took the shots. I wish it had been about 4 hours later or 9 hours earlier, but no such luck.

Jayme,

You took what you saw and the image speaks for itself. I think it's wondereful. The composition is beautiful and the color is good. Great capture. Congrats, Ronnie

Isn't it at Gwendalough ? I went in Irleand many years ago, and this tower and the hill behind reminds me the site of Gwendalough.

Glendalough if I am not mistaken - I could be though - its beel quite some time since I was there - it was on a day school trip from Dublin. This shot is beautiful - postcard / book cover professional quality and you even have 41 shades of green

Glendalough is right. Very peaceful, but a little too touristy for me. It was hard to keep the tourists out of my images. J:)
