Alec well thanks first of all, well I shoot a lot and from that lot I come out with a few that have potentials, of course when I find the spot that I like after staying for a few hours hangin around till i get the light that I think is suitable for what I wanna manipulate I mean the shadows on the leaves or the bushes, since it's IR and the foliage turns white if you have nice shadows then you have a tonal range too and not all foliage turns white too ,the white foliage has sometimes a kind of glowiness that's very suitable for toning or partially colorize it. the surroundings the sky the background and I try to visualise it how it would look after processing it. After shooting for more than a year IR I kind of know just about how it would look in B&W and I still get surprises .... I experiment a lot too till I get the colours or the mood that appeals to me. or how I would fantasize the scene, since i would very seldomly get that light or color if I wasn't there for maybe weeks and in all seasons just watching the changes of light and colors in different phases of the year. My guess is whatever we do we cannot emulate natures beauty but with seeing wonderful changes of colour and light just watching you get at least a slight clue of how you could at least give it a try to emulate it..I wish I could be there when you could get actually those colours from Nature. Which am sure I still woudn't be able to do it justice, but unfortunately am not around then.Am sorry I might have been carried away with this discussion anyway, Voila..I said it

David Hi this is a B&W IR I then color it sepia if you want,or dark orange or gold or whatever acoording to the mood I wanna give it I do it with layers,Or I do a duplicate of the picture and then I work on that duplicate after giving it the starting color I then use the eye dropper on curves or levels and with it, the gray in the middle or black or white eyedropper I just click around the picture till i get what I think is okay but sometimes a click one millimiter apart can have a different rendition of colors. After I adjust the Hue, Saturation, and set it to different settings till I get the desired effect..Which could be done with Layers.... or on a copy of the image, so if I do not like the result I still can get back and start all over...till you get the effect you like.of course that is my approach am sure there could be many other aproaches and get the same result. Regards
