It is a pity that the upper jet is touching the front jet. (I know that such comment is easily said but that taking these pictures requires great skills)

I know what you mean.. My first thought was that the bottom plane (#3) is also climbing a bit. Usually when aircraft fly in tight formations like this turbulenct affects the formation so if one plane is affected they all are affected but it looks to me that he is inputting a little too much right rudder causing the climb here.
