Shot at a market in central Bali, where it is customary to put some small offerings (rice, flowers, leaves) on the merchandise to get some luck in the day.

Hi,

I would appreciate some advise on the cropping of this shot. On one

hand I like it messy as that market was, on the other hand I have some

doubts myself with the out-of-focus foreground...

What shall I do with it (if it is worth any editing...!)?

Cheers,

I would say keep it as it is. If you cropped the foreground then the flowers, which I believe are an important element, would fall right in the middle lengthways and not be so pleasing, while further cropping from the right and top would then remove too much of what you call 'the mess'. In reference to the flowers being 'an important element', they help give scale, break up the otherwise monotone wicker colour, and iniciate questions regarding the reason they are there- who left them? are they from the admirer of the shop owner? have they been left to wither and die among the dead and dry wicker?
