Excellent crop, and he is looking in your direction! Nice work as always!

I like the lighting on the man and I think it works well with his pose. The bright bits in the background are a little distracting, but I think they do add something to the "feel" of the composition.

Timely photo. Great subject. THAT was a generation of men. We have a bunch of whiners these days. The black suit against the dark background makes it a bit hard for the subject to stand out. The light is a tad on the dustracting side but not to bad. Great character in his face and a good choice.

 

Overall. Not to bad and a much appreciated submission on memorial day.

This is a wonderfully framed shot; it is too bad that it's too dark, but the picture itself carries on well. I hope you can find a way to bring out the shadows and the skin tone without undoing its serious mood.

I intentionally emphasized the dark side to intensify the mood. Here is another version.
