arashdejkam 0 Posted May 29, 2004 This is a great portrait Regina! very soft and delicate light both on the hat and the face. it is very interesting that there is no shadow of the hat on the face, did you use fill flash or a reflector? I just wish he was looking right into the camera. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 30, 2004 Very nice portrait, Regina. He looks strong, yet vulnerable. This works very well, especially with the selected DOF. Link to comment
dberryhill 3 Posted May 30, 2004 Regina, this is razor sharp, and, like Arash mentioned, you avoided a problem that often befalls me - shadows from the hat brim falling on the face. The wooded background fits nicely, adding atmosphere without being a distraction. Good work! How did he like it? Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted May 30, 2004 LOL... razor sharp... rather punny considering his scruffy beard. Seriously tho... This is our youngest son (we have 3 boys) showing off his new hat. The day was cloudy and overcast so there was very little shadow. He was just standing there chatting with me and I thought he looked good so grabbed the camera. He is a very unique child (at 21 I still consider him my baby) full of cocky confidence and attitude. I think this comes through in the photo. Thanks for all the feedback so far. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted May 30, 2004 this is incredibly thoughtful and well executed. the framing, pose, exposure, focus and sharpening -- wonderful for portrait. my only suggestion (and i had to really think about this one) is to lighten the whites in his face to bring out his eyes and a little contrast. but you know, this is terrific as is. bentes_world 0 Posted May 30, 2004 An absolutely well done portrait with very nice tones/contrasts in the BW and a great look too. A photo .... and a son .... you have all the right to be proud of, Regina. And yes .... they are always our babies how old they ever get. Link to comment
