ASPIRATION

Photo ID: Yellowstone 045, 1/1000 sec., f/9.5, ISO 100, While hiking alone on a trail in Yellowstone NP, I came across this devastated scene. I wanted to make a serious shot... but I was not carrying a tripod... so, I opened up to f/9.5 to make shutter speed fast enough to avoid blurring from hand held shooting. Thanks to geothermal steam hiding much of the background, f/9.5 was enough to bring everything visible into focus. While trying some variations, I met another lone hiker coming down the trail hurriedly. He told me he saw a grizzly bear up on the trail. I stopped advancing, and turned back to trailhead.
