Hi Hugh, her name is Barbara she's american and have been living in Montr顬 for many years. I've met her a few times in a downtown square where she goes on wednesday nights for the community soup.

Barbara manages to keep a small appartement where she spends as little time as possible because she doesn't feel safe in it. She gets her clothes and food from charity organisms.

In a way she's very together. She's always impeccably dressed and she tells me her apartment is spotless, which I have no problem to believe. On the other hand, her pain is raw and contant. She carries around some horrible past; she's been raped at age 20, she's been in prison, her kids have been takent away from her 35 years ago and she misses them immensely.

She was happy to see me again last week, and as usual, was clowning around in front of the camera for me. We both laughed a lot. She gave me a head band and some cookies that she had just gotten for herself.

Thank you Marie, for giving me some insight into life of this remarkable lady.

She reminds me of those I look out for here on the streets of London, lost souls that have become castaways on the far regions of society.
