pradeep1 0 Posted May 20, 2004 the beee is coooool, but i think the frame is a bit of an overkill. great action shot! cheers! Link to comment
erikadams 0 Posted May 20, 2004 I can't believe you captured this so cleanly. With nice composition, too. Such nice work. Link to comment
roberto p 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Your patience has been awarded. Great capture and very good DOF! It would be interesting to see also a more diagonal cut...just like the bee is "entering" the frame. But it's only my opinion. Congrats! Link to comment
wong_kk 0 Posted May 21, 2004 What a tough task to catch a flying bee :D Congratulation, you get it, Allon! Cheers :-) Link to comment
jespdj 0 Posted May 21, 2004 Nice photo! Good that you didn't put the fly (it's a fly, not a bee) in the middle of the frame. Link to comment
allonkira 0 Posted May 21, 2004 Thank you all! For your great and constructive comments and your nice ratings. I really thought, at first, that it's a kind of a bee and I'll be glad if someone (maybe Pavlo or Jesper) could tell what is the name of this fly specie. Thank's again! allon Link to comment
robert holmes 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I have stood or sat for hours waiting to catch the perfect image of a flying insect or bird..........It takes huge patience, and not just simple luck.... Superb photo! Link to comment
maritatoftgard 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I know what you mean..*gg* a photographers life is a waiting-room... but I only wait for... the perfect clouds-shape,size,colour... the perfect wind-hard,soft.. the perfect calm-nothing moves... the perfect light-too many different.. the perfect colours-thousands... the perfect........whatever..... (could be written by any photographer..;-))) sorry..just got inspired when you said the magic word WAIT!!!;-))) Don't you feel sometimes that it can be difficult to bring a non-photograher along...on photo shoots..!!?;-)) PS.love this photo...brilliant work Link to comment
arvi_finn 0 Posted May 22, 2004 It's a flower fly of some sort. Most flower flies mimic bees, and it is very easy to mistake one for a bee. I don't know if there are special names for different species of flower fly - I am sure that there are many many different species. It is very easy to prove from this photo that it is a fly and not a bee - flies have two wings, bees have four. Link to comment
pavlo_kuzyk 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Yes, this is a flower fly. They look like bees so that nobody will touch them. Another possibility is that it is a bee who looks like a fly who looks like a bee :) Link to comment
