dhawks 0 Posted May 14, 2004 I'm normally not one for "effect", but this one stopped me in my tracks (so to speak). Good work. Regards, Doug Link to comment
adomavicius 0 Posted May 14, 2004 a very mature look on a childish face. spooky, captivating! Good job! Also, THIS is the way filters/effects SHOULD be used. So many people think that, for some reason, built in photoshop sketch effects are the new HOTNESS for photographs. Ugh... but i won't get into it here ;) You did good! Link to comment
ithicks 0 Posted May 14, 2004 I love the layering and tones. I love the contrast of young and old that is captured. Great job. Link to comment
lissahatcher 0 Posted May 14, 2004 From some of the last comments I realized it does look like filters ....and some of it is but 90 percent is overlay of different images. One handwriting ...one a monument in Washington DC That I feel in love with and new I could use the texture for something ...all of this on top of a sepia colored print. Thanks for all the feedback very helpful ! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 14, 2004 It is fascinating to hear how you did this. The facial pose reminds me of some from the 1930s that are now treasures. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 15, 2004 Very good overlaying, the coulouring and choice of handwriting are outstanding, the only minor pick I have is the oxidated stain(top-left), I would show a little more hair and maybe also a tad more layering on the face, but it's a choice. You have made an excellent step out into this field, I'm sorry to say I'm still stuck in the attempt, good work! Regards Marco Link to comment
eknos 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Lissa, This looks like a painting by Renoir! My compliments, Sandy Link to comment
lissahatcher 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Yes I had shown more hair ...but, it made her pop out of the frame away from her aged suroundings ...Scince posting I have put a bit of the aging on her face ...very helpful feedback ! Thank YOU Link to comment

arashdejkam 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Your original photo was somewhat lifeless but I knew it has the potential to become a good photo but didn't know how. You brought life to your photo with the effect. well done. Link to comment
lissahatcher 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Arash , You came back to look :) I knew it had something as well, I just did not know how to make it POP ...Thanks again! Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Very well done Lissa. Like Marco, I feel that the area of her hair could be improved. Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted May 16, 2004 the overlay of different images has added a special feeling to this portrait. It look somehow antique. The left part of her hair disturbs a little: maybe you covered it a little too much or maybe it's too green, well I don't know but my eye keeps going there... Great job anyway! Link to comment
