micheleberti 0 Posted May 13, 2004 Great composition with a beautiful lit! Lovely... well done! Link to comment
chad_gard 0 Posted May 13, 2004 I like blue a lot - but it seems to overwhelm this shot. It even makes the greens, especially the copper roof, seem cool. perhaps an 81a warming filter would have been helpful to bring out the texture of the roof. But more than that, I'd like to see it in different conditions - sunrise, sunset, fog, patchy clouds, thunderstorm in the background, etc. Also, a lot of fun could be had compositionally with the gazebo (? - or whatever the building is) in the foreground left. It seems odd to chop it off where you did, loosing the top of the weather vane and the side of the building. Link to comment
marionovak 0 Posted May 13, 2004 Light in this shot was into the camera, so greens are actually in the shadow. I was standing on top of the roof of that house, so there were not that many options what to do and how to crop this shot Link to comment
John Crowe 165 Posted May 13, 2004 Well it is quite an odd composition. Perhaps by cropping the right by alot you can cause the eye to wander along the shoreline and back toward the turret. This is only an idea. Link to comment
dancencak.com 0 Posted May 15, 2004 I would love to have seen the entire weather vain in the image. Nice color Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Would bringing up the shadows improve this image? Specifically, the dark trees in the foreground. Link to comment
marionovak 0 Posted May 15, 2004 As I have mentioned, I was shooting almost into the sun, so trees were in the shadow. If I would wait for differen time of day, I would never get that blue color of the water and the sky, it is trade-off Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 17, 2004 Nice crisp detail and colour. I like the composition as it is - gives the contrast between the close squashed in left hand side and the open rhs. My only wish is that there was more of interest in the trees. Here is a similar composition though the lhs building is not so close as in your shot : St Catherines Lighthouse Link to comment
