I really enjoy this photo. You took a gamble with the enhancing filter, but it really appears to have paid off -- the soft pink tones here really make the shot. Very well done.

Beautiful image...35mm film landscape at its best....It would be very interesting to compare it with a didgital image taken at the same moment.

I have just googled, and discovered that the Canon EOS 1N is a digital camera...I was misled by that Kodak GX thing....I thought it was a film.

Thank you for your kind comments. Robert: You were right the first time - this photo was shot with film. The EOS-1n is actually a 35mm film camera.

In some of your photos, the red is enhanced too much to my taste, but in this one, it's really nice, adding a finishing touch to good photo...

Don, this is one of the best images I've seen of this area. I especially like the better blending of the background mountains, both in terms of color as well as texture....especially the texture. I'm not sure if this results from the filter and depth of focus, or whether there was dust in the air. Whatever the source, I really like the overall effect. I've been here twice, but never really came away with a landscape shot that I liked (the best I could do was day-old footprints, in my folder). I would have been entirely satisfied if I had gotten anything close to this.

Ah, so these are the fabled Death Valley shots you were telling me about. Gorgeous! Such dedication to get up early to capture this moment. Somehow you managed to create an image that had the early explorers seen, they would have named the area "Peaceful Valley". The only thing that would make this picture perfect (in my own twisted way), would be for a scantly clad glamour model to be laying supine on the crest of the nearby dune. :-)
