My Blue Period, Pansies

Comments, ratings on pansy shot--thanks. This is for a project for

my wife. Constructive criticism appreciated

I assume you used DOF to blur the foreground as no manipulation is indicated. In which case, this is a fantastic composition for it's vibrant colors and simplicity. The crop really brings your eye to the middle of the flower, and not seeing the whole flower makes it more interesting than the standard full-on shot in my opinion.

Yes this was all in camera, an attempt in what's called "shooting through." Some levels and sharpening in PS.

constructively- I'd like to see the blurred or shot thru object a tad more lower and the center of the flower just a hair to the left and down but that is beyond picky and from a person who has all her clothes on hangers in order of color and sleeve length and collars facing the same direction.

 

all in all a very nice shot and pretty colors.
