foureyes 3 Posted April 23, 2004 When I wander my own ways as I do now,...I never feel more alive than when I have the camera in my hand and I kiss the sky at dawn ! It is then that I lie beneath imaginary worlds and I listen to the light that burns the clouds and turns the sky into porcelain !..... This magnificent view of the Texas sky over the Bolivar penninsula, near Galveston,.... it is probably the most Beautiful sunrise I've ever seen !...... hope you like it ! Link to comment
ryan_biffard 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Amazing shot. Perhaps having the person a little more to the left and down (to the bottom left 1/3rd) could have improved the shot. Link to comment
jouni lehtonen 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Very intresting! It's hard to see where horizon begins. Very good photo. Good reflection. Link to comment
nikonuserf100 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Great composition. A well balanced photo: great colors, interesting subjects, nice reflection, and good prospective. Nicely done. Link to comment

robidooo 0 Posted April 23, 2004 I like it but I feel that it was not the right thing to break the 'rule' of third on this one. Link to comment
lester_dworetsky 0 Posted April 23, 2004 much more powerful image if sky cropped halfway down into v of white part of clouds. Good vision and concept of the moment. Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Well, this image was playing with my mind. I test different crop just for fun and my conclusion is: forget my previous comment!! I think that having the horizon in the middle is better than following the 'rule' of third. Regards, Stephane. Link to comment
maritatoftgard 0 Posted April 23, 2004 brilliant square format..and perfect in every way...wow! Link to comment
maxhaynes 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Cropping the sky would change the story of the picture from glorious to ominous- "red sky in morning, sailors take warning". Both ways work, just different stories. My first inclination when I saw this was, you had to be just thrilled to pieces just being alive to witness it and doubly so that your camera was in your hands to share the scene with everyone else. sbrauchli 0 Posted April 24, 2004 I remember seeing a similar sunrise on Matagorda Island in Texas once, but unfortunately I did not have my camera with me as I was waist-deep in the surf fishing. This is indeed a great catch! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted April 24, 2004 Excellent sunrise picture - I can imagine the awe you must have felt shooting this and hoping the images would do justice to the real scene. I think you succeeded well. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted April 24, 2004 screw the 1/3 rule...another winner...Your digital nailed this one... Link to comment
corrie_o 0 Posted April 24, 2004 Amazing composition! While the horizon doesn't follow the 1/3 rule, every line of site leads you in a direction that does. 10/10!! Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted April 24, 2004 Great. Rules are made to be broken if it helps the pic... Link to comment
