Step into my church

bentes_world

From a small abandoned church by the sea build on the edge of the cliff and where half the part with the choir and altar fell about 30-40 meters down into the sea in 1928.

....Take your time...Step into my church... take a seat on one of

the hard wooden benches ... clear your eyes... here is no central

heat and no electricity ... only the incoming light from the window

and the portal... and there will be no rector in the pulpit. Sit

down and listen to the sea and to the whispering wind. The sea and

the wind will preach to you... and after some time step out on the

balcony......

Hej Bente

Det er vist Stevns gl. kirke er det ikke ??

Dejligt billede og iøvrigt stor ros til hele din portfolio - den vil jeg kigge nærmere på ved lejlighed.

mvh

Thanks Bente.

Ken she makes it sound and look like a place I'd want to photograph, so she may end up with me on her doorstep, when I'm rich and kinda infamous, asking for directions.:)

I like the detail in this, Bente ... but I have to say that I like the little bit of blue in the color version better.......

I think the b&w looks more balanced, with less competition between light sources. However, I kind of like that bit of conflict in the color version. This one is very nice, too, just a different feel to it.

Peta and Ken ...Oh .. I like being in third person when you are talking so nice of me. If you ever should happen to stand on my door step - rich or not so rich and famous or infamous - you should all be so welcome.

Kim and Lou Ann - I agree with you both... better balanced, more detailed ... but missing the charming blue.

Thanks for the comments to all ... and for the welcome if you stand on my door step it goes for everyone too.

I was Catholic raised......I have been sitting on my knees, but we had those 'grey/purple pillows' to protect us. I did go to the church with my mother (she died 33 years ago) and we always burned candles for people who needs them. I am still doing this, burning candles I mean, but I don't go to the church, I am now listening to myself, and to the sea, and to my friends, that's what I believe. I don't believe in institutions, but in real life. Thanks for sharing this GREAT picture, you did do something with me.......I am not English, but I think you understand me.

This is lovely in its simplicity and starkness. An altar that leads to the sea, is one well worth visiting...

Not much else to be said, but the lighting is beautiful, the subject matter is eye catching, very, very nice. You do such a wonderful job!

Beautifully exposed. Also, the shadow in the window and the railing viewed through the door very nicely complement the regular pattern of the rows of pews.
