bobarcher 0 Posted December 8, 2004 Just for a change I thought I would put one of my wife's paintings on the net instead of my photos...never been done this before! Wishing you all the best at this time of the year however you celebrate it !...Bob Archer Link to comment
bbilly 0 Posted December 8, 2004 I like this abstract painting. But this isn't a photography as such. It's a documentary photography of painting. I published on this side photographies of streets-graffits, and someone say, that this isn't a art site, this is a photography site. I think this is an art site - an art photography as well, but your work here is just documentary photography. So very good for painting and good for photography. Link to comment
alamosa 0 Posted December 8, 2004 I can imagine her use of texture in the painting but not in your photograph. It looks pretty one dimensional and for this painting, I'd like to see some relief. Use side lighting to add texture and maybe an angled set up. Link to comment
bobarcher 0 Posted December 8, 2004 I appreciate your comments. I know it's not an art critique site but,Adam, you have given me a good tip that I will use to help sell my wife's painting. Glad you liked it Boris. I've also been confronted with the question when I take pictures of street scenes with paintings and art works. I think if it's part of the scene then Ok but don't emphasize it much then you can call it a photograph. Photographing art works is not appreciated by artists anyway without their permission...Bob Link to comment
