First days of spring (2).

gaetanchevalier

Quite unusual to see, a very beautiful snow shower with very large snow flake and no wind. Shot taken at noon time on march 23th, 2004 in Jeanne d'Arc's Garden.

Superb composition and light. It relaxed me the moment I saw it.

...another signature, Gaetan-isque image, but it looks faintly familiar. May be perhaps other than being a mirror-image version, it is virtually identical to your previous, "Jardin Jeanne d'Arc in Quebec city (DSCN0212)," still very tasty. Thumbs up again.

The one I prefer so far. The balance is perfect, the almost B&W feeling is adding drama, and the snowflakes are doing the rest! Shows the beauty of snow!

Gaetan, tres magnifique! (Please excuse the poor French; I'm going on what I learned in high school!) Lovely capture with great symmetry.

Wilson,

This is not a mirror-image version to my previous "Jardin Jeanne d'Arc in Quebec city (DSCN0212),". The first image show the south side of this park with ice deposited by fog. The present photo show an unusual snow shower and I wanted to get the more natural capture in the heart of Quebec city. So I shot the north side, with those majestuous old trees. They offer an excellent scene to capture the beauty of this phenomena and you can see that there is still a lot of snow to melt.

A very carefully composed photo, a great harmony of lines. Impressing well looking B&W coming out of a digital camera. Like it a lot

I write this comment on friday April 16th. There is still a little bit of snow here. I expect that it will be all melted in one week. In Quebec city the normal snow precipitation for april is 6 inches (15cm). It is said that Quebec city is the snow capital of the world. With a population of more than 500,000 persons I think that this affirmation for a city of this size is true.

Outstanding composition and tonal range. The first day of spring and nobody out on the street...how peaceful can you get. Regards, Doug.
