Guest Guest Posted April 2, 2004 The fog doesn't thicken with distance - was this done with a filter? Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted April 2, 2004 Andrew thanks for your comment,A very very slight touch of a dreamy effect. maybe it is due to being shot wide open too there's no detail after the white lights.. I runned it through Neat image to get rid of the grain. Link to comment
tony georgiadis 0 Posted April 3, 2004 Greg,I already explained to Andrew.it is fog, with a slight dreamy effect filter and run throught Neat image to reduce the grain. I wish i could reproduce fog that way.Without it being foggy. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted April 3, 2004 Hi Tony, did you run NeatImage through the composite color image? I find splitting the image into its RGB components and applying noise reduction to the noisiest channel (or selected parts) produces the most natural appearance - without that glossy NeatImage look. tony georgiadis 0 Posted April 3, 2004 Michael Hi,No i applied it to the whole image. To be honest i never tried to apply neat image splitting the RGB channels and running it to the noisiest channel am gonna try that seems a good idea thanks for the tip. the effect of fog was accentuated with a soft filter because after sharpening it I had some artifacts showing in the shadows. I don't know if it's only me,but it's funny cause i found out that after uploading a photo.....i get a softer look to it...than when I put the finishing touches in Photoshop. Link to comment

joe4peace 0 Posted August 17, 2004 With any art form I feel that "anything goes" to make the image. The important basics are here; light and composition. I like the use of the gradient to darken the left and right edges. Moody and beautiful. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted November 12, 2004 Tony i didnt know this was yours and was reading about this neat image blah blah earlier. Funny when seeing this on the trp it impressed me but wore off quick. Seems to have a plastic effect alright and God forbid this neat image should become the benchmark... Looks cool but gimmicky. Fog...we have major fog here and i went out last night shot 6 rolls of velvia on fish boats and stuff...dyin to see them next week....take something like 3d max u can add fog in densities and distance if you know how to work it...quite cool and more natural cause it renders.
