sterioma 0 Posted March 26, 2004 I am wondering why the leaves look so white: have you been using any particular filter? Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted March 26, 2004 Like me, I think that you are using the RFC option @ photo.net to try and get maximum exposure for a particular issue...Definitely nothing wrong with that, as far as I'm concerned. However, the kind of feedback that we get via this avenue isn't necessarily what we're looking for, imho...As you know, I have paid a visit to this majestic tree and tried to record the enormous size of it - without much success, I might add... So, good onya for continuing to spread the message is all I can say! Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted March 26, 2004 John, I'm curious--why did you choose to present such a low contrast view of this monster? It's beautiful--to me it creates a light feeling that incorporates the surroundings. It makes this massive monster looks very natural when surrounded by other smaller features of the forest. w. roger keagle 0 Posted March 26, 2004 The small bit of light on the trunk of this huge tree says it all, in the dark and moody world of trees, every bit of light is captured and turned into the energy it needs to live ! The struggle of life here is not lost on the world, unless it is turned into woodchips....what a loss that would be ! Here is to a surviver ! *R* Link to comment
mclaine 0 Posted March 29, 2004 Stefano and David, your monitors must be at oppoiste ends of the contrast spectrum. David reckons it's flat, Stefano implies the opposite with the comment about white fronds. On my monitor the brightly lit foliage is near white, and the deeper shadows are quite black, so I have each end of the range. Perhaps the mid-tones are not particularly well separated David, and that may be what you are noticing. Thanks for the feedback. Link to comment
