rpallagi 0 Posted March 26, 2004 he was born without retinas, but he is very sweet and sometimes it feels like he is looking at us. I wish one day he would heal... its a portrait I took with my old tamron 28-200 and I was surorised how well it turned out. what do you think? Link to comment
bexta 0 Posted March 26, 2004 Cuute, Love how one ear stands up and the other one is floppy. One thing is, the puppy doesnt really seem to be in a 100% clear focus.. One paw is in focus (the right one) but the rest isnt.. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 26, 2004 Rebecca's correct about focus. Focus should be sharpest on the eyes, and dof should extend sufficiently to keep the whole nose sharp. Other than that, it's very nice, and the pose is nearly perfect, so you captured that moment well. -s Link to comment
rpallagi 0 Posted March 26, 2004 I was hoping you wouldn't notice it, but you guys are so good! :) My tamron with 300D looks quite dim on the viewfinder and I believe I used 7 point af which is still a pain in the neck to get used to although exposure is more accurate... thanks for your comments... the ears are really cool too. I dont know if its normal that only the right one stands up. He had problems with his ear (he is 5 months old) hes a problem child! but we love him :) Link to comment
koosnet 0 Posted March 28, 2004 Very nice colors and a lovely subject, but indeed the focus. However it don't bother me. Try some tighter cropping and an other frame. I think it makes it a bit better. Nevertheless, very well done Roland. Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Fine as it is. It is a good photo. to have been extra ordinary, it would have needed to be brilliantly side, back lit. Good control of DOF. Perspective and camera angle good. Contrasts of subject and background well balanced..see jaymaisel.com for spectacular lighting ideas..Are there Hungarian sheep dog genes present?? Nothing wrong with Tamrons..The new 90mm macro is as sharp as a zeiss, only lacking in the ultimate color coatings.. Link to comment
pix1 0 Posted June 28, 2005 only an amateur would tell you how you "should" photograph anything. like there is a 'how to correctly photograph dogs' manual or something. actually, there probably is! LOL for those lacking creativity. the soft focus here (and it should not be confused with out-of-focus) is perfect for the subject. this little pup has had a shabby start in life, and it seems to me that the treatment here is very sympathetic, and evocative of that. i sure am glad he is getting some love, i was afraid you were going to say he was a stray. a real cutie! ~d.
