my_pics 0 Posted March 26, 2004 Ahh. Once again, you've done a terrific job in follow through with the panning. Kudos. (Wish the Rule of Thirds were applied to this well executed pan though. :)) Link to comment
johanan_roser 0 Posted March 26, 2004 As an experimental test pilot it is only natural for me to judge this shot from pilot viewpoint too, so I think that you have exaggerated the speed effect, remember planes with landing gear extended fly at slow speeds. Link to comment
deepblue 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Great capture. Sorry, but I couldn't let that last comment pass. I'll judge this picture from a pilot perspective as well (I've got about 1000 hours instructing in that type of airplane -- T-38, although that appears to be an AT-38 variant). That jet has one of the fastest approach speeds of modern aircraft. At the moment of that picture, that aircraft was probably traveling at about 160 knots (approx 180 mph). Exaggerated the speed effect? Not likely. I'd say you captured the essence of landing that jet about perfectly. No matter how many times you fly it, there is always an almost overwhelming sense of speed when you take-off or land. Good work. Link to comment
