Nikon F5 Nikkor auto zoom 75-300 f 5.6 at 300 handheld at 1/4 sec., uncropped, unmanipulated, Color print film. Unusual blue coloring of stems is due to combination of reflection of blue from predawn sky plus possibly some film reciprocity failure. . . . NO FILTERS OR PHOTOSHOP! Addendum: Nov. 28, 2004, in response to requests, this image has been sharpened with unsharp mask just slightly.

This photo is entire as viewed in the viewfinder. No cropping,

editing, Photoshopping, or filters of any kind, etc. Unusual bluish

color of stems is due to reflection of predawn blue sky, combined

with long shutter speed (at least 1/4 sec. handheld) possibly aided

by some reciprocity failure in the print film.

I'm saving up to buy a tripod. (and a camera bag to hold my film and stuff . . . my passport is on the ground nearby, pulled out inadvertently when I pulled a roll of film out of my pocket to change rolls, somewhere roadside in Oregon) John ;-))

This image has been altered slightly by applying 'unsharp mask' in Photoshop slightly to the central part of the flower, but barely and hardly enough to alter the image at all. John
