Netherlands - Bicycles and Canals

Probably a cliche, but bicycles and canals seem to be such a part of

Dutch life.

Love this. The inclusion of the bicycle is key to how this works. Nice job. Tones are great for this particular piece, nice contrast, yet not overdone. Great piece.

it would be better maybe without the chain on the bike

Adrian, if the chain is not there, the bike is not there:) it would get stolen in the blink of a shutter. Nice view of Utrecht. There are some great pubs on the right side;)

I like the chain.

I like the chain...I think this could be a little darker..just my opinion.....I like the photo.

Its a very "classic" photo alright, but the exposure is off, and the restricted range of tonality detracts from this otherwise very good photo.

In fact I can see two chains on this picture. One is on the rear wheel.

So I think the composition misses one chain on the front wheel !

 

Seriously, the composition and lighting are as perfect as can be ...
