The only time I've ever used a digital camera, the D30. First time for the wonderful but Canon huge 70-200 f2.8L IS lens too.

This is my good friend Joseph Paul. Joseph, a true gentleman, is an artisan extraordinaire -- he constructed this complete Mens Traditional dancers regalia himself. The beadwork he does is simply amazing as is his headdress and bustel.

Joseph was the first dancer I ever photographed -- thats a story in itself -- I've shot him many times since heres another shot of him.

And to close...I'll post a small before photoshop version of this shot for your consideration.

The darkness adds a level of power and mystery to the image, so I like it. I might try cropping a bit of the blackness off, but not too much as it does give a sense of depth. Have you thought of layering the wonderful color photo over this one in PS to give it a hint of the beautiful colors that make the costume? Just a thought. This is a truly unique and memorable shot, as all your photo's are.

Thank You Ray, I believe I know what you mean because it's the people in the images that make everything so special!

I'm very fortunate to call some of these people my friends and I'm also Lucky because looking at these shots brings back that magic feeling that I get when I Pow Wow.
