g2imaging 0 Posted March 8, 2004 This and the other images in my "Day at the races" folder were taken at Santa Anita park on "Cap Day" March 6, 2004. There were 3 stakes races that afternoon. I appreciate your comments and feedback on this, and other images or presenations in my portfolio. Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted March 9, 2004 The image is reasonably sharp and exposure is OK, but generally speaking I don't care as much for racing photos where the horses are at an angle past the camera. I find that the best angle at the track, if you have a long enough lens, is to position yourself at the top of the stretch so that the horses coming around the turn are running almost towards you. This is a very dramatic angle and about the only place you can that kind of shot at the track. There's usually also not too many people in the way. Link to comment
g2imaging 0 Posted March 9, 2004 Firstly, there is no way you can judge how sharp an image is from a JPG. I have hundreds of racing photos (I once covered Santa Anita while Sea Biscuit was in production). Take a look at the folder if you want to see some recent ones, I'll put up some older images soon.
