johnorban 0 Posted March 9, 2004 I really like the greyscale version, but judging from the ratings it appears the color version is more attractive. It is interesting that there is over a one point difference in Originality rating between the two images. That doesn't make sense to me because the only difference is the saturation. If anything, desaturating the image is more original than leaving it in color. I find the simple lines and tones here to be pleasing, but I also like the color version. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted March 9, 2004 Further proof that ratings are hogwash. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well this translated to B&W. It almost has more depth and interest than the color version (though the color one does have interesting complimentary colors - much better on the slide). Thanks for the suggestion. Such is the real value of this site. Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted March 9, 2004 I don't know why but my taste is always opposite of what the popular taste is. I really like this in B+W a lot more than color. Color seems to be the game these days but I am finding myself gravitating towards Monotone lately. I think it is more expressive. I love the opposing diagonals here. The is a great study in converging lines. Nice capture... Dave Link to comment
