abintraphoto 0 Posted March 7, 2004 Exactly what I was thinking ..... (-; Nice shot btw - the exposure, being backlit with that nice rim light is well done. Not many bird shots with them standing in the vertical position either. Most living creatures preferring the horizontal position. Link to comment
bryan olesen 0 Posted March 7, 2004 At first I thought "flicker", then had to look it up - "Golden-fronted Woodpecker". Nice catch. Hope to see more. Possibly another dedicated folder? BTW, the weather is breaking here and birds are returning - stay tuned... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 7, 2004 Thanks, everyone. You have me worried, Ken - I'll have to see what I started. Bryan, looking forward to the bird shots. We went out today and got some wildflowers - haven't even looked at them yet. Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted March 8, 2004 I'm not sure that catching him on the house is a good sign, but he looks handsome here. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 8, 2004 Pawel, it is NOT a good sign - we have a wood house, up on stilts, and the woodpeckers try knocking every once in awhile. When I noticed where this one was, I realized I had a clear shot from the livingroom (not THAT clear, I guess, as the outside window wasn't spotless!). Thanks for visiting. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 9, 2004 A lucky grab through the livingroom window. Comments? Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted March 11, 2004 I wish I had your vantage point. The soft lighting and delicate colors work well with the muted background. I particularly like the touch of backlighting outlining his form. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 11, 2004 This was just a fluke, Donna - normally I see these guys off in the trees and never up close. This one I heard knocking and when I went around the corner in the livingroom, there he was! One chance and that was it. Link to comment
rodrigo_g_mez 0 Posted March 13, 2004 it feels "plane". Not really colors. Maybe in black and white? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted March 13, 2004 Maybe, Rodrigo. I can try it in B&W and see how it looks. Link to comment
