Hi Kim:

"Reflections" is a little too balanced and much too pink for me. But the "Moonlit Mountain's" silvery blues, spooky clouds and flowing lines excites my imagination. The kind of scene that draws me in with the promise of good story to be told. --jim

Thanks for commenting, Michael and Jim. I have always liked "dark" pictures, when there is enough detail to spark the imagination, yet not enough to tell everything. The original of this one was actually taken during daylight. After I finished the effects, I found it reminded me more of a moonlit night.

I also like dark pictures, but they're not always popular. :-) The toning is quite effective; I'm guessing it's something along the lines of Sepia/Negative for the general look. Wonder if brightening the sky just a tad would look more dramatic.

I share Jim's sentiments on "Reflections".

The way I came up with this was to invert, then replace color selectively. Took awhile to get the effect I wanted. Thanks for the feedback.

Kim, I sort of had in mind to dodge the sky while retaining the remaining image. The version I played with also shifted the hue slightly.

That works, Michael - I'll have to play with it again. Right now, I have some lizard pictures and wildflowers to see what I can do. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Roger, interesting bit of your past...

I wonder if it would be possible to do a picture like this in reality :)

But the finall effect is grabbing attention. Cool work

I don't know if it's possible, Peter, but the tones and colors are like what I've seen in the moonlight before - it would just be a matter of getting that in the camera.

I love to invert! Creates a whole new dynamic! Excellent idea Kim. I like the flowers at the foot of the mountain too. They stand out nicely.

Wow, vewry powerful. I would have cropped the bottom left a little more. Your mountains look like gigantic waves rolling towards the shoreline and by cropping the bottom a little more you would have made it look even more so. Fantastic job though.

Thanks for your opinion, Warren. It would look more like waves with the bottom cropped. I left it in, however, because I thought it gave the composition more depth. I guess it just depends on what effect you're after on how to crop.
