John Crowe 165 Posted March 30, 2004 I love the contrast in light that a good storm can create! I always imagined some sort of sibling rivalry going on here but perhaps the elm should stand on its own. What do you think? Link to comment
arond a. 0 Posted March 30, 2004 Nice. I like the hole in the clouds as made apparent by the island of sun. It mirrors the island of a tree as made apparent by the ocean of distance. Link to comment

John Crowe 165 Posted November 1, 2004 To Judson: The secret of duplicating the spot from which I took this shot and the winter one is a secret! No, it's quite simple. There is only one place to take this photo. If you look carefully at the point where the tall elm tree meets the horizon you will see the domed top of a silo that is behind the tree and down the hill. Taking the photo with the dome behind the tree is the only way of nearly hiding it. Seems to me if I tried lowering my position I would then end up with the fence in the foreground. It is easy for me to approximate the position because there is a farmer's driveway right behind me as well as his mailbox. Thank-you for your interest. Link to comment
