A revision of a previous image using new tools on PS CS. The

original is in my single photos folder. The shadows and detail have

been lightened here and the photo seems to glow a little more than

the original.

I think you may have overdone the adjustments just a tad as I am starting to see some noise in amongst the detail. That said, so far as composition goes I think this is as solid as you can get. Well done!

... though I prefer the transition from light to darker on the left-hand wall in the original photo. It seems a bit too flat and lacking perspective in this one.

Beautiful composition! With regards to the scan... I don't know what verion of PS you have, or what funcitonality it has, CS? But, hopefully you have access to the curves function.

 

Open up the curves dialog (Ctrl-M) and lower the curve on the Green channel... to me, it brings the image to life w/ vibrant red colors. I've attached a sample to look at. I've been to the GC, but not Nankoweap, so I don't know if this is reality or not.

PS I also did a little bit of work on the shadowed area of the lower left of the frame.
