ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted February 24, 2004 A slight crop at right of the two pieces sticking into the frame and this would be perfect Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted February 24, 2004 Alec, The low camera angle you chose places the curb at a very stategic height, just concealing the 'bare' essentials & at least partially preserving your subject's dignity:) A fine result for your efforts! Best, LM. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 24, 2004 Thanks Ken / Len for your comments. I didn't want to manipulate the picture which is why there are some distracting 'sticks'. The picture is also cropped froma much larger one hence the poorer resolution. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 25, 2004 Alec, you'll do wonderful justice to this image by converting it to monochrome. If your software/plugins allow, I suggest a blue filter, thus... Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 25, 2004 Gary, not bad at all but where's the hen? How about this new attachment? Should I post it in color or b/w? The baby is more cute and background just as colorful. Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted February 25, 2004 BW gets my vote on both counts. Cheers --pc Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted February 25, 2004 What an expression! Very nice Alec, I like both babies. The B&W of both is wonderful. Such an eye! Link to comment
john_jarrett 0 Posted February 25, 2004 I really like this picture. The baby with the rooster looks very mature. His face and eyes do not look like those of a normal child. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 25, 2004 Alec, in this image I barely notice the hen hidden in the quite visible basket. To me the toddler and his eyes are the stars of the show, so to speak, and the baskets add visual context, but the hen is visually tangential although certainly meaningful to the child. As for the other photo, that pail and the immodest view and hands positioning... Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 25, 2004 Come to think of it you're right John, he looks mature. Gary, yes I'm lucky to catch his expression and raised eyebrow at the right moment. Do check out my new postings from Bali! Link to comment

robert goldstein 0 Posted February 25, 2004 I much prefer the color version. Also, the image may be a bit oversharpened. Overall, very nice work. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I like the color version of your original posting - you can see the rooster, although you have to look closely, but I think that adds interest when you want to "explore" an image. In the b&w version, you can't even make out the bird at all. In the second one you are going to post, I like both versions. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 26, 2004 Thank you everyone for the positive comments. I know the quality is not that great as it's a cropped image. I'm glad that this photo is accepted more for it's overall composition and presentation of a look at living in a village in Lombok. Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I was pretty sure that this one was going to be a winner! Congrats!!! Link to comment
