Alec, The low camera angle you chose places the curb at a very stategic height, just concealing the 'bare' essentials & at least partially preserving your subject's dignity:) A fine result for your efforts! Best, LM.

Thanks Ken / Len for your comments. I didn't want to manipulate the picture which is why there are some distracting 'sticks'. The picture is also cropped froma much larger one hence the poorer resolution.

Alec, you'll do wonderful justice to this image by converting it to monochrome. If your software/plugins allow, I suggest a blue filter, thus...

Gary, not bad at all but where's the hen? How about this new attachment? Should I post it in color or b/w? The baby is more cute and background just as colorful.

I really like this picture. The baby with the rooster looks very mature. His face and eyes do not look like those of a normal child.

Come to think of it you're right John, he looks mature. Gary, yes I'm lucky to catch his expression and raised eyebrow at the right moment. Do check out my new postings from Bali!

I like the color version of your original posting - you can see the rooster, although you have to look closely, but I think that adds interest when you want to "explore" an image. In the b&w version, you can't even make out the bird at all. In the second one you are going to post, I like both versions.

Thank you everyone for the positive comments. I know the quality is not that great as it's a cropped image. I'm glad that this photo is accepted more for it's overall composition and presentation of a look at living in a village in Lombok.
