aepelbacher 0 Posted February 20, 2004 This is the second of two photos that I have of this lake. I made some adjustments based on the comments on the other photo from yesterday, such as removing some of the magenta and increasing the contrast. I did not play with the grain again (I know ... I ought to be using lower speed film ... read href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2144366">the other thread for my reasoning for using mostly 400 and 800 films on the trip to Alaska.) Thank you to Pedro, Dennis, Walter, et. al. for recommonding specific changes. I'd love to hear what you think of the difference. (By the way ... of the two original images, the first is my own personal favorite.) Any comments or ratings are appreciated! Have a wonderful weekend, y'all!! Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted February 20, 2004 About the composition, I prefer the previous version (which is not perfect, all things considered). This shot has been taken too late concerning the cloud, which is almost out of the frame (and here, no croping can save it). I would have prefer no cloud rather than a piece of cloud. Secondly, I am not sure that the foreground brings anything. Thirdly, I wonder if a square format does not work better with this sort of landscape, where the oblong and rectangular mountain makes a redundancy with the rectangular format. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted February 20, 2004 This is right on the money color wise. Better of the two shots. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted February 21, 2004 From what I've seen in pictures, this is definitely the color of lakes in glacier country. Great work as always, Lou Ann. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 21, 2004 Yes the first one. And a good weekend to you too! Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted February 22, 2004 I like colours here, but to my personal taste I prefer the composition of the first one. Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted February 23, 2004 Well...I'm partial to the first one too. This one is good but the first one is stronger. As an experiment, how about stitching both of them together into a single pan shot? Would be a lot of work, but the result would be really cool. Regards. Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted February 24, 2004 Okay Lou Ann, I'm back. I tried what I suggested and made an attempt at a panorama. I'm afraid it is very crude. You, of course, would have the originals and would have better luck. Regards. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 24, 2004 Thank you SO much ... I love it! I need to learn more about these software capabilities ... I am only able to scratch the surface of what they can do. It is absolutely gorgeous!! I must try it!! Thank you! Link to comment
