jimmcnitt 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Hi Michele: You've achieved an evocative and memorable image. Congratulations! Speaking from personal experience, the state of mind you've captured seems more akin to anxiety or panic than the black pit of depression -- but, again, this purely a personal observation. I suspect everyone experiences drepression differently. On a technical point, I'm not sure I undertand the reason for the slight destaturated zone behind the figure? To my eye, it merely emphasizes the composite nature of the image -- while at the same time you have taken pains to create an excellent drop shadow that would otherwise have nicely integrated the figure into the scene. Finally, I love the way you've combined the cat's eyes with the "inquisitive" shadow in the corner. Excellent work! --jim Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 19, 2004 This is very good, Michele. The cat's eyes are barely noticeable and IMO unneeded, but that's artist's choice. My preference is toward simplicity that would suggest a cropping to emphasize the agonizing human face and reaching hand, and their shadows. Link to comment
Link to comment

-- jim Link to comment
Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted June 16, 2004 The two faces on the wall clinch this image as a winner. Already a great shot made more interesting - looks like an MRT station rail track Link to comment
